So, there was this time at school with your child....

We've all experienced those moments with schools and our kids, right? I can't be the only one. I know I'm not, because I've heard others talk about it. So, what are we going to do? Something needs to change, and it needs to change now. Here's what happened in my case. My child was on a school field trip with his teacher and classmates for FFA. On their way back, he mentioned that a girl took his friend's hat, so he squirted her with water to see if she would return it. He and his friend lowered their window, and the same girl retaliated by pulling on his tie. When he tried to stop her, she pulled even harder. She was pulling so forcefully that it was cutting off his air supply, making it difficult for him to breathe. He started squirming and eventually managed to wrestle free. Throughout the incident, the teacher did nothing, despite hearing and seeing what was happening. When she finally acknowledged it, she simply said it wasn't her problem because it wasn't her day. Another student caught the incident on video, and when we showed it to the principal, the situation was somehow turned against my son. They claimed he was playing around and was part of the problem. Even though the teacher didn't intervene, it was considered acceptable because he had been messing around earlier, and it was deemed okay for the girl to act that way because she was cold from the water. What do you think acceptable?
